Yin is a worker first. 

Yin joins the firm after clerking at the Federal Court of Canada for the Honourable Lobat Sadrehashemi. At the Federal Court, Yin assisted on judicial reviews of decisions by administrative decision-makers and class actions, with a focus on immigration and refugee matters. Prior to clerking, Yin summered and articled at another union-side labour firm in Toronto.

While at Osgoode Hall Law School, Yin completed an eight-month placement at Parkdale Community Legal Services in the Migrant Rights Division, served as the student representative on the PCLS Board of Directors, and was a senior editor for the Journal of Law and Social Policy. As a student, Yin assisted in developing public legal education resources for migrant farmworkers and incarcerated persons, and was awarded for their coursework in evidence law.
